So Basic B18B Questions And Suggestions?
Don't want to sound like I'm just a newbie asking vague questions, but that's inevitably what it'll sound like, so here I'll go:
Plan on doing B18B into an EJ Coupe come Spring. I have yet to locate a car.
I plan on running forced induction, a turbo of course...7-10psi daily driven and ~15psi when needed.
1) Considered doing a B20 with an LS head and boost but not sure of what's involved. I've heard the "head needs to be tapped," but me being only semi mechanically inclined I'm a bit lost.
2) I know the sleeves and rods are the inherent weak point on the B18B allegedly. I assume ignition and fuel upgrades would be worthwhile? What else could be upgraded that would be beneficial?
3) How aggressive of a cam should I run? I know stock cam profiles are ideal, but would a mild upgrade be worth it?
4) Manufacturer recommendations?
That's all I can think of for now, there will be more of course. Thanks in advance and hopefully I didn't do too big of a repost.

Re: So Basic B18B Questions And Suggestions? (AcuraFanatic)
A stock B18B will handle 10psi all day. So 7psi will be fine. B18B's are not weak motors.
1a) Why not use a full longblock from a B20B?.....Why a B18B head?
1b) I never heard of tapping the head unless you're going LS/VTEC (ex. LS block / GSR head).
2a) Fuel upgrade, recommended w/ any turbo application, especially when going above a stock set PSI. Injectors, filter, pump, rail, pfr.
2b) Ignition upgrade, yes IMO. Felt the difference in my cousins' car (B18C5 w/ JUN Stage 3 Head).
3) I'd leave the cams alone. You'll feel a gain, but I'd wait for a full build on the motor.
4) Drag, Rev Hard, Thermal, MSD, Venom, Skunk2, Ross, Crower

wrong, wrong, psi is just manifold pressure, 10 psi with a t3 is different then 10psi with a T4, a stock ls can handle 300whp, stoopid (i think is how you spell his SN) had it on his girlfreind's car, but he was running more then 10psi, so PSI/Boost is relative HP is not
