Default Snapped valve cover stud

I went to pick up a d16y7 today, seller said it's great condition etc. Turns out it has 2 snapped valve cover bolts. There's no space at all to grip it, it snapped .1cm from the surface. Any way I can get it out?

No place to grip it, the seller broke it off below the head surface

U can use an easy out u just have to be sure to drill the hole right in the center of the bolt.

Is that something I can drill in, then turn one end with a wrench to turn the whole bolt out?

Or possibly use a Dremel tool to score a groove for removal of the broken bolt with a screw driver.

be careful about getting shavings into the head, plastic and tape.

What Ron said is the best way to remove the valve cover bolts. If the threads are in good shape, it should be easy to remove once you used a dremel tool to make a groove similiar to a flat head screw. The easy out tool requires you to drill a hole perfectly centered on the bolt without disturbing the threads on the head. I had a 93 Civic with a busted valve cover bolt and it only took a few minutes to remove it with a dremel tool.

I'd honestly just get a full set. I've used a range of those extractors on my eg.

The bolt broke below the head surface. I can't notch it without notching the head.

Bought one from lowes, we'll see how it works
