Snapped bolt on rear subframe 93 sedan
I have run into a snag. I was installing my beaks rear tie bar which requires removing the pivot bolt for the rear lca's. The left side came out without a problem and I installed the bracket but when I got to the passenger side the bolt snapped. At first I thought it just broke free and continued with removal. When I got it out I noticed the break so I pushed the lower control arm away from the car and saw this.
I tried my easy out but it was a little short.
I am open to any ideas and since the car is off the road I don't need the fastest solution. I was thinking map gas and trying to dremel a slit into the bolt so I could get a screwdriver on it.
Thanks

Drilling requires a very steady hand and first class cobalt drill bits.
That's a grade 8 hardened steel bolt.
If you must drill, start with a 1/8" and make sure its in the center
Then a bit larger bit till you get most of it out.
Careful not to drill out the threads on the welded on nut.
Or you can go the easy way and grind off the nut.
Remember to use a high grade nut/bolt/washers when you bolt it all back together.

Easier to grind the nut off, i tried to get rear struts off buddies car and both bolts broke. Tried to use aircraft grade drill bits and it took forever, i ended up with grinder.

The snapping was probably due to the rust on that car. I hope i dont have same problem when i install my tie bar. Difference is that i have no rust..

That hurts man lol. I have been contemplating just getting rid of it for a while and trying to find a cleaner example from Pa(I'm from ny). But it was my first car and I have had if for a few years and have that sentimental attachment to it, which is weird considering it's only a civic.
