SMOG PROBLEM?
i have a 95 civic hatchback with a swapped 95 integera LS, everything is all stock no new performance done, im having problem pass smog, i was told that my NOX was high reaching 2000 and the max was only suppose to be 700 or less. I have taken my car to a mechanic and the smog reff, i was told that my car was running really lean causing the idle to drop while being smogged. I was just wondering if running lean can cause me to run high in NOX because it is my only problem to pass smog, everything else is clear except the high NOX problem, and that my car idle down for i dont know what reason, but i replaced the hoses and i have got stuck to a dead end, so any information about the running lean or how to fix it and what to check out to make sure im not seeping air will be really helpfull.. thank you

Re: SMOG PROBLEM? (blackhatchsd)
yeah running lean will cause high nox. do a top end clean with seafoam or something. then do a complte tune-up and fuel filter. i had the same problem and i did all that and a new converter and it passed with flying colors
