Smart or stupid-Removing factory seat covers to wash in washing machine?
Ive got a 93 delsol and its been rained in, smoked in, and just pollenized to ****.
Sometimes after sitting in the sun it just stinks like mold and crap. I try to make sure that the windows are up and the top is on when its supposed to rain but it has gotten wet before-**** happens.
But to HELP cure the stink would it be worth it in your opinion to remove the covers and wash them? I have tried all types of cleaning solvents and detergents with no luck....I even removed the seats and hosed them out.
I know what im doing here- I used to own a detail company for years
Any suggestions on this?
TIA

You might be able to hand wash them and then air dry them but I wouldn't put them in a washing machine. You might also try to spray the foam rubber under the seat covers with some sort of odor removing agent. That might get rid of the funk.

I guess i wasnt clear enough. Im not asking if its a good idea per se I wanted to know if it was worth the possible results for the effort as I have never done this before.

I would think if you removed the seat covers and put them through the wash it might shrink or destort, so when you put them back on they will not fit as well as they did befor. Just kinda throwing out ideas.....
