Well I put new gas in the car to see if that was the problem... I let it sit runnung 1 hr and some change. I drove it up and down my drive way, but still that sluggish to it. Also I red lined it to see and to my surprised it replined at 5800-6000 rpm. Which I know it should hit 7000rpm. I'm thinking that the Dizzy that I have on there is the wrong one ( Im using the D15B8 8 valve Dizzy) which im running on a 16 valve could this be the problem. Could I just need a Z6 Dizzy and be done with it?

Your going to need to run a y8 dizzy. When I had the same problem. Put a y8 dizzy on there cut the plug off and wire in the plug off the dizzy you have on the motor. The colors will match right up. Then when you finish that set your timing, new plugs, wires, and a cap and rotor if you buy the dizzy used. Goodluck

Why not just buy a used Z6 dizzy saves time... also what you mean set my timing?

when u say u let it sit running for about an hr, that was idling right? if so thats dumb. the engine is not designed to idle for that long, u start fouling plugs up and idling for so long will wear the internals a bit. i have seen it happen so its not good.
you need the dizzy from a z6/y8 and re wire to fit ur cx harness. or buy the conversion harness for the dizzy plugs.

I must say letting it sit there is not dumb at all... one hour would not have hurt it. The car it self has been at rest for 6 months and letting it run a while its a pretty damn good idea. Your andswer to ur question yes it idles just fine, but when you try to take off sluggish then picks up.

Re: Sluggish???? HELP ASAP!!!! (SH)
i got the same problem. except i have a d15b7 and i replaced the dizzy few weeks ago brand new. now it runs slow as hell. almost like the dizzy is turned all the way retarded except it's advanced. and once in a while after driving on the highway my air/fuel ratio leans out and throws a code 43, fuel supply system. changed plugs, wires, fuel filter, and injector cleaner in the tank. fuel pump is good. no fuel leaks or crushed lines. same thing still happening. only thing i need to try is to see if the o2 sensor is goin out and change it and double check the timing.
but at the same time i dont know why id wanna spend more money to fix the problem when im doin a motor swap soon

i must say the proper way to doing it is let it warm up then shut it down. let it cool then start back up warm up. depending how long it sat for, should also change the oil. then go for a drive at different speeds. letting a car idle is alot of wear than you think

As changing the oil that would be done once the car is running right and then test drive it.
