The slowest car in the world
I just took my stock (besides an intake) 00 civic hx h/b to the strip here in Tucson, and the best time I could run was an 18.028 @ 74.58 mph. Wow that's fast. I have been researching and contemplating a dry shot of nitrous, 65 at the most. What kind of times do you think I could with that kind of shot?

Re: The slowest car in the world (99FBPSi)
A manual, and that wasn't even my time, it was my wife's. She has beat me in every car we've had every time we've raced. I'm not the best driver, but I don't consider myself to be horrible neither.

Re: The slowest car in the world (I Am Jack)
Are you serious man? I didn't post on here to get ignorant answers from ignorant people. Maybe I do suck, but maybe a little tip here and there would help me get better. I haven't posted on H-T for about a year, and I remember when you used to get help from people. I posted about three times in the last few weeks, and in every one I have received an outright stupid answer. Thanks for the advice though.

I'm just giving you a hard time... No harm meant. Expect people to give you a ration of **** if you post in the wrong place... Unfortunately that's how it is around here now.

Re: The slowest car in the world (QuickSilver[Eh2])
yea...they be the stock 14's and some dunlops, looking to upgrade soon. Also, what is an ideal and realistic 60' time?

With the nitrous, you should get down to around 2 flats, maybe 1.8-1.9. That's also almost 16's.
Also, h/b's never came in the HX model, so I would assume that you're running a CX. You should be hitting high 16's with little or no mods. On the juice, you should be running high 14's. Just keep working on your launch and driving and you should improve. Practice makes perfect

2.2 is a pretty decent 60ft. a general rule of thumb is every .1 sec off of ur 60ft is about .2sec off the ET. i dunno how accurate it is tho just what i hear

I'm sorry, it is a CX. I don't have a tach so I just shift off of my MPH, I can take my first gear to almost 40, I think right at 40 it bounces off the rev limiter. My second gear goes to almost 70. Does this have anything to do with my slow time also. And don't you have to deduct some tenths for the elevation.

MOST cars reach peak horsepower at redline, not at the rev limiter. I'd try shifting a bit earlier... but thats just me.

I don't bounce off the rev limiter, I did it once to find out where it is so I know where to shift. I just don't see how that car could be any faster, I guess a tach would help to find out a good launch point.

I just based this car off of my 00 DX that I used to have. The redline on it was 6750, and I would hit the limiter at maybe 6800. So I figured on this car it was the same, my rev limiter was my redline.

Either thats WAY wrong or I'm too used to my Si tranny.
Either way, get a cluster with a tach or buy a tach or something... just get a tach.</TD></TR></TABLE>
yea my 96 dx with a cx tranny runs about that in 2nd gear. it is really slow. i did about beat a lt1 body style, auto, v6 camaro.

Si/ex/lx trannys = much shorter gearing
