Default Slow and low, that is the tempo..

So I went to the junkyard to pick up new front shock forks since my friend completely stripped one out being a retard and I see a 92-95 EX/Si guage cluster sitting there. 75 bucks and only like 400 miles more than my stock CX cluster had, so I had to buy it. Turns out, looking at it when I got home.. I got Junkyard Rice!
It already had indiglos in it.. lol. So i just threw the cluster in and wired up the indiglos for the hell of it.. think I might actually leave them in there for now.. lol rice.

Also spent the weekend grinding/cutting with a sawzall on my stupid bushings on the rear LCAs to get my EK-meant Tein RA's on. After 3 months, my suspension is finally on!

JDM B16 w/ LSD tranny will be here tomorrow, friday, or monday.. then the real fun begins.

Anyways here are some pics:

yeah man, screw indiglows, they aren't "cool" anymore. They're not JDM so they look so damn tacky

for real though, what is rice about indiglo's? i got em and love em... only cost me $20... i guess i should have used that money towards a JDM floor mat or some blingin JDM side markers though, huh

haha the only thing "rice" about indiglos, IMO, is when people are driving and their whole face is lit up blue from their gauges. that, and they can be blinding if they are bright enough to light up your entire face at night!

i dunno i kinda like em, i dig the white face but i think some reverse indiglos would be easier on the eyes..

shrug!

I hear ya, i've seen a few people with the gauges that are glowing the whole interior of the car. Luckily the ones i got have a dimmer, and even at the highest setting aren't overpowering. The other cool thing about the ones i have is they change colors. The reverse gauges are dope too, they got that new VW look which i really like. Just calling them rice bothers me though, cuz it seems too many people jump on the rice "bandwagon" and deem anything thats not performance related "rice."

ride_with_me: hey how do you like those RA's. tell me everything. are they stiff as ****? how much and where you buy? also, did you have to trim a lot off those bushings to get them to fit?

I don't have the RAs, but I will tell you that the HRs are pretty damn stiff. I also used EK Teins and I had to grind down about a 1/4" off each side of the LCA bushing. It only took me about 20 minutes though.

my only beef with pretty low eg's is that since the wheels are so thin the fender acts like a canopy over the wheel.

smaller off set or wider rims would fix this...
my only gripe sorry,.

good luck on the swap.

On the Teins.. yeah, they are pretty damn stiff! I can BARELY move the car by pushing down on it as hard as i can and I am 6'5 260 lbs. It rocks side to side but only because of the cheezy tires that are on the stock wheels.

YES i am going to get some rims. C8's i think...

Grinding down the bushing.. well.. I had to go to the store and get a 6" grinding wheel and a 5" vise, and 4 metal cutting blades for my recipricating saw (sawzall brand). Then we mounted the vise on a fat piece of wood and one of my friends held down the wood while I took the sawzall to it. Went rthrough 3/4 blades. Then, since the cuts weren't near perfect, I just sat them on the grinder for a few minutes, leveling them up.. If you CAN get "EG" teins, go for it, they are backordered pretty bad from Tein.. which is why I got the EK ones.

The monster tach will probably go, i just have a problem with taking if off and not using it because it cost a ton (relatively speaking).

Also, could you safely use spacers to widen out the stance a bit? I also don't like how the fender's loom over the wheels, makes it look funny...

spacers are safe, as long as u have the longer lug bolts to compensate for the extension.

but id suggest since, u didnt buy the rims yet, to look for some wider rims.

can u fit 8's under those fenders? or i guess just 7.5's with a wider offset.

its still better to try to get a set of rims that dont need spacers to widen them, along with gettin wider tires for more traction.

i have 5 mm spacers in the rears of my car, cuz my wheels rubbed the coilovers..
but it was more for function than style in my case.,
5 mm is no biggie, but my brother has 15 mm's to clear his rims.
