Slow drain on my battery.....
Hey all, my 00 civic ex has a diehard battery i purchased back in 06 and it has drained several times before(forgetting the lights on,etc) but i noticed lately when i go to work then leave (roughly 8 hrs) and i try to start my car, it jus barely starts so i dnt know if its just time for a new one or if thiers a drain, how would i be able to check the battery if theirs a drain?

Start by having the battery tested. That's likely the problem.
If it's fine, then test for parasitic drain.

Had the same exact problem in my civic. Had the battery less than a year. Even the test came back the battery was good. But eventually i got sick of it and bought a new battery. Problem went away. Only thing on with when my keys are out was my alarm. and i know that wasnt enough to drain the battery.

This might help you in your own garage. I know shops use different equipment, but i don't expect you to buy a bunch of expensive equipment or bring it to a shop to trace your electrical issues (which can get pricey). Measuring Parasitic Current Draw
I had a similar issue and it was reliving to find out there wasn't a parasitic draw to trace, but at the same time it sucked that I still didn't know what the problem was.
Mine ended up being that my battery ground was bad. I could drive the car around no problem for a month or so, but then the car would die or just not start. I went through batteries and alternators several times as bandaids before I figured out what the problem really was.

I had an Optima. Won't ever happen again. Biggest pain in the *** battery I've ever owned. I swapped mine out at least three times, couldn't get my money back, so I put it in a car I was selling and let it go that way.

The battery would just die repeatedly. One manager at Autozone theorized that the car could not manage to maintain the battery.
I had problems when I daily drove my car and then also problems when I bought another daily driver. that battery would die even if I drove it every day of the week.
All I know for sure is I went through three of those pieces of ****. It was a red top. I had a customer complaining about them yesterday as well. He says in the military they use them. They just have a pallet of them though so when they go out (which is often), they just grab another from the pallet.

Re: Slow drain on my battery.....
from my experience, Interstate batteries last the longest.
if you're on a budget and have a Costco membership, I've had great luck with their Kirkland batteries.

THERE IS A PEICE BY THE CLUTCH (DONT KNOW THE TERM) AND IF IT DOESNT TOUCH WHEN YOU SINK THE CLUTCH THE CAR DOESNT START. MY GUAGE/CLUSTER LIGHT STAYS ON WHEN THE CAR IS OFF AND NOW ITS DRAINING THE BATTERY.
