Default Sleeper Sedan Update.. Product review. and sever heatsoak...

ok guys. Hears my sedan again.

and i got some track time tonight

Full interior (spare, 12" sub, and i carry tools for emergancys)
13" VX rims 185/60/13 Falken 512 Ziex tires
______________
D16y8 engine
HKS turbo manifold
GARRETT T25 turbo (looking for a used GT28) Disco Potato!!!!
SS Autochrome cast downpipe (cut and rewelded org. for S13 Silvia)
3" stainless exhaust (kettler stainless pipe kit (came with mild steel hangers and flangs)
Summit Racing Turbo muffler
MSD external coil
Nology hotwires
Red Dog Motorsports FMIC
HKS Super BOV
2.25" charge piping
Uberdata using EGmikes205whp base map. with some slight modifications
EGT gauge, Oil Psi, boost gauge's and vtec, low oil psi, intercooler sprayer LED's
Running 6.5lbs now. soon to be boosting 10lbs and dynotuned!!

ill post pictures later on in the thread.

I had some major heatsoak problems tonight at the track.
my charge pipes and radiator suport were so hot u couldn't keep your hand on them. so tomarow ill be making a solid heatshield for over my turbo manifold. possibly buy more header wrap for the turbomanifold, and downpipe. and ill also be trying to buy some carbonfiber fabric that at 500degrees reduced the other side temp down to 100 degrees.

Ill include pictures of my 3" exhaust. how i we made a downpipe for the T25, GT25 or Gt28 turbo for any Honda, Which no one makes a downpipe for!!!!
And later info on how to reduce under hood temps and heatsoak.

PS. im trying to use this thread as in informative tool to show what ive done, and help others by the things ive added to my car. if u have a question post up and ill answer it to my best ability.

3" exhaust
Have to find pictures. will get updated...
Resonator has been replaced with summit racing turbo muffler.
only complaint. 3" stainless pipe kit comes with mild steel flanges and mounting hooks. (why sell a stainless kit with nonstainless parts )

Summit racing Turbo Muffler
My exhaust has no cat, and no resonators. its 3" from the turbo back.
The Summit Racing Turbo muffler is quiet enought that i don't get pulled over.
it only comes in aluminized steel so i painted it black to keep it from rusting.

the sound is fairly deep, but gets higher in pitch when vtec is hit. works perfect in my situation.

Tight fit the with GSR swaybar in their.

Boost!!!!!!

I really like the look of the RedDogMotorsports (ebay company) FMIC.
But today it was cold but my charge pipes were way to hot!!!!! not sure how efficent it really is. so im going to keep an eye on it and try and lower my under hood temps to see if the intercooler is working properly.

summit racing Jpipes were used to make my chargerpips. i bought an HKS BOV flange and welded it to the pipes. and im using an HKS Super BOV. First HKS sequential BOV made. its not the SSQ its older.

The GARRETT T25, similar to the GT25 just no BB center, seems to pull great. pulls hard to redline. but im running on a basemap, so i have some spots where i bog at, and it enters boost kindove rough. pulls really really nice from 5-7k

Exhaust "o2 housing"
no o2 was placed hear because the wholes were the wronge size. its made form cast iron. and i got it from SSautochrome. we used a nickle rod and warmed both peices and then welded them at the right angle to aim the opening the right direction.

3" downpipe was made from 304 stainless form a company off ebay. really high quality stuff. turned out nice.

Gauges/LED's

track night at Dragway 42

Times Best time was a 15.058

i would spin through 3rd.
Car was running really hot all night.
42 doesn't spray any sticky compound on the track so its slippery as ****.
(anyone that has raced their can vouch that our track sucks. no traction & very bumpy)

my cars condision tonight.

I also had a full tank of gas. nothing was removed. i wanted a good actual time. something i might run on the street.

Problems

around the upper radiator hose, and the hot pipe running form the turbo to the FMIC i need to make a heatshield and or wrap it in heat reflectant stuff.

I will soon be hitting the dyno, getting some 15" rims, and i have a pair of 14" alloy wheels im trying to get some drag ET's for. hoping for a 13.5 before the race season is done.

well considering im rolling on 13" vx rims, Massive crack in windshield my paint looks shitty, and their are dings all over my car, bondo shows through on 3 corners, and their will be a baby seat in the back very soon. not to many people will expect it to pull on them.

I don't race on the street. so daily driving all i watch for is my Red LED that means i have no oil psi. and that is seen only when its lit and then its noticable.

if anything the big crack in my windshield is more distracting that the gauges.
only distraction at night is my Cheap CDplayer. no dim option so its really bright.

if heat soak is a really really big problem.....Summit Racing zsells some stuff by DEI that actually wraps around your turbo and insulates it

Theres no need for a 3 inch exhaust system on there. Youll be alot faster with a 2.5"

Do you have proof of this? In which ways do you have proof that 3" exhaust will help his or anyone else who has under 325-350whp? HONESTLY. I am talking low and midrange throttle, gas mileage, top end, do you have proof that i dont know what i am talking about?

but it wont be a profound difference either way
