Has anyone ever tried doing something like this...basically hide some 3" exhaust inside the stock muffler to look totally stock from outside?

There are sooo many shitbox civics around where I live, everyone would just think that it had a hole in the muffler. My biggest reason for wanting the car to look stock is so no ********* try to steal it. I've already had one car stolen. (it even had a fuel pump kill in it) they just towed it away...

Yea it's still gonna be very loud and I'd be VERY worried about back pressure. When you have unrestricted airflow all the way to the ***-end of the system, I would think there'd be rebuttles to that situation on your motor.

This is a B16 turbo car, so back pressure is not an issue...I really am just wondering if anyone has gone though the crap to acually build something like this. I already have full 3" exhaust on the car...

Well maybe it'd be better if you hollowed out the muffler but when I mean back pressure when you have 3 inches running the whole way back and it squeezes down to a packed up muffler with a tiny outlet, I would think that could be potential problems, I don't know if it DEFFINITELY would but I just wouldn't risk it. I'd just put a muffler on with a silencer.

You must not be undersatnding my picture....the exhaust would acually exit out the bottom of the muffler from a 3" outlet. It would not go out the little pea shooter, that would be pointless..

Ah ok, you're right I wasn't understanding, I thought you were running it down then running a stock exhaust, but I would assume yea you could cut yourself a holy and have it exit there, but you deffinitely still won't have it SOUND stock. Sorry about the confusion.

wait, i thought with NA cars u want some backpressure, and turbos usually do better with little backpressure or even open dp's? or are you trying to get the 3" pipe to enter the (hopefully hallowed) muffler adn bend down and exit the bottum of the muffler? that would work...

why not run a 3 inch exhaust, 3 inch Noir muffler and a exhuast cut out on the down pipe or exhaust cut out before the muffler?

The car IS turbo....I would just buy a 3" turndown pipe, chop me a couple holes through the stock muffler, and hide it that way. Hmmmm, it makes me wonder what they would do at the emmisions test...probly confuse the hell out of them...but it would funny to watch them try to figure it out.

I'd just run the cutout. You can keep your stock exhaust as far back as you want & open up the cutout for when you want to beat on the car.

Hey that idea is sick... My buddy has it done on his turbo Civic, and living in california kinda requires a sleeper look.

It may be a tiny bit louder though that's the only issue, but turbo cars are known to be quieter than N/A so it's really your call, but i think it's a good idea.

Like the 4" setup, does it bleed exhaust back inside the car at all? Wow, a V-band setup, just for changing out exhuast....

It would choke your motor, pure and simple.

I'm not sure if it'd run or not but if it did it would run very weak and probably unstable.

no hes not running the exhaust IN the muf just in and down.
