Default Skunk2 TB, Worth It? About to buy need opinions ASAP.

Ok i have a 97 ek with a GSR swap. Its has a short ram intake and some headers and a catback. Some guy just offered me a skunk2 TB for cheap.....reallly CHEAP. Its 70mm. But my Q is will it be worth it? Will i have any problems with it? Is 70mm to big? Any input is appreciated since im suppose to go pick up in a hour. TIA

IMO 70mm is too big and your engine will probably run like crap without a tune...

NOT worth it, you will probably decrease the performance of your engine...

You could buy it and hold it till your making more power and can use it
buy it and re-sell it
etc.
I say buy it. Too cheap.

That is an option but you would have to be making some serious power to need a 70mm throttle body. You could also just buy it and sell it here in the marketplace... I'm sure someone could use it...

Well i bought it already. So im probably gonna install it and see how it goes. I dont think it would be that bad since everyone else always gets 68mm and 70mm aint that much bigger. Im gonna use it like that now and later im going to install a jackson racing supercharger so i should be fine i guess.

a basemap is just a basemap. not a tune by anymeans, just a way to make your car safe to run so you can drive it to get it TUNED not saying yours wouldnt be safe without a tune though, no serious mods so it will probaly just make it run bad if anything. but basemaps suck every engine is different, every setup is different.

no and yes. unless you plan on upgrading the whole valve train then its not worth it. but if its cheap enough, and you later plan on upgrading some parts its definitely an investment. or you could just turn around and sell it.

Well like i said I already bought it. I'm thinking of installing tommorow.....but all these comments are making me flake.LoL. I mean i have A AEM intake and a header and a catback exhaust on there already. I dont think this will make it run bad like others say. Will it? And how do you come up with that conclusion? I got it for $100 its wirth about $300 so I made a good choice. Might trade it for a carbon fiber hood with someone. But im not sure if i should.

Also like i said i do plan on upgrading valve train and cams and then supercharging it but thats in the long run. For now just the bolt on's. Maybe by the end of the year ill get everything else done.

i know this because my buddy has a gsr in his ek and before he got his head built, it ran like ****. and i was going to put a s2 intake mani on my gsr but i was told my numerous people not to.. as well as finding out that the Edelbrock Victor X is better.

trade it/sell it
