i know all b-series tb's are the same, except the type r's is bigger.....so any b-series car's intake arm should bolt up to the tb, but im not sure about the airbox question....what car is this going into, caz you could just buy any b-series intake box and arm and make it fit

its goin into an eg, so i have the gsr intake tube and box as well as the eg intake tube and box. i like the looks of the gsr airbox much better though and like how its positioned, leaving the corner of the bay nice and empty. so if i was to get a jdm type r intake arm it wouldnt fit my TB? i was under the impression that just the inner diameter was different but i could very well be mistaken

yeah it'll fit. You are right that only the inside diameter is different.
