skunk2 coilvers on 5g hatch
wondering if anybody on here has used the skunk2 coilovers, or matrix? if so how do they ride (lowered to about half inch wheel gap on 16's) do they handle good, real bouncy? i have crx struts on my hatch for shorter piston.
i wanted springs, but have no idea what would be the optimum spring fo the ride height i want. H&R sport for crx sit about 1/2" too high all around, but ride great and handle like a champ.

I run the Skunk 2's over Tokico Illumina struts. I use the Integra spring rates with the 500lbs springs in the rear, 400lbs springs in front. The ride is rough, but not bouncy. You must get struts.
Also, Skunk 2 is my preference over the other brand you mentioned.

i got skunk 2 coilovers on my 92 CX...I also have GSR struts....it is only temporary because to be honest wit ya it is not a very comfortable ride, and from what i hear the quality isnt very great.....my advice, save up for good full coilovers....(Tein, JIC, or Apexi N! dampers, or KYB stuts with eibach springs...)

well i have kyb agx struts for the rex. just looking for a spring preferably that will lower it good. leave me about 1/4" fender gap on 205/40/16 w/ full tread and corrected camber. thinking maybe sportline spings, or H&R race. have crx H&R sport on there now and it sits a touch too high...

Re: skunk2 coilvers on 5g hatch (SOHC Beast)
I'm sitting on Skunk2 coils w/ GSR spring rates in my EK. I'm still on stock shocks shocks though ( ) Only reason i bought these was so i could sit a little lower until i get enough money to do my swap and suspension and everything else. The ride is bouncy for me, but remember...i am on stock shocks! With Koni Yellow's you will have a nice stiff suspension which would be comfortable enough for daily driving and stiff enough for good handling.

I would recommend a cup-kit. Such as H&R's, basicly race springs and koni adjustable struts that work very well together...
Problem with coilover is that everytime you change height, you need an alignment, otherwise you'll be losing traction, therefore performance. Plus waste of tires. Just my too sence.

I have skunk2's with stock struts worse than a pogo stick. I would have got GC coilovers but my buddy didn't want them anymore. I have the low as they can go. I need struts mine are leaking.

Re: skunk2 coilvers on 5g hatch (Slow CX)
id get skunks. but someone mentioned crx shocks... arent they lighter(crx chassis), so they'd have a lower damp weight or something.... they wont hold up as good.... and shorter piston... that necessarily good?? i have crx tokicos on my eh but only b/c i had em lying around...

Re: skunk2 coilvers on 5g hatch (nerdsports)
as far as the piston being shorter, think of it this way, the civic piston is like 2 inches longer than crx. therefor when u lower the car 2 inches, the piston is compressed that much all the time, and almost bottomed out, not much suspension travel, where the cxr might lower about half inch or one inch at most because they aren't quite as stiff, you still have more suspension travel before that piston bottoms out. and the eg isn't that much heavier, a little bit in the front, but almost the same in the rear. yea you have back seat and a hair more metal, but the crx hatch is a beast when it comes to weight.
i had half the tire tucked on 16's on the front, went for a ride and it was still smooth ride, just rubbed horrably. anybody have any pics of their eg6 with springs on it, sitting with almost no wheel gap on 16's or maybe even 15's

I would go with Skunk2 over Matrix. My experience with Matrix isn't good. They are bouncy and squeeky. My Skunk2 coilovers are holding up good though.
