Skunk IM or ITR IM?
Hey I'm building an LS/Vtec and before I get it put on I was wondering about a new Intake manifold, s a skunk2 worth the price or should I just find an ITR? I was also wondering about the TB, I wanna either bore it out and get a new one, by the way this is all for a 1st gen B16 head. So I wasthinking wouldn't it be easier to get the ITR IM and matching TB? Or is a skunk IM worth the money and just bore my B16 TB? Or is it wirth doing either at all? the head has stock cam shafts and valve train right now.

OK ya I've head that b4, so then I should just try to find and ITR mani and throttle body then? And if its the same will and ITR throttle body line up with a Skunk intake mani on a b16 head?

ITR intake is much cheaper. then SKunk2. quality of the OEM is much better.
stock B16A tb is good enough and does not need to be bored. look for a 94+ GSR or ITR TB. slightly larger (ITR is of by 3-4mm, while the GSR by 2mm) if you want a slight improvement. just to let you know even with 4-6mm boring out, gains will be of about 2-4whp at most. you're better in that case sending the money on getting the motor tuned. or investing in lightweight flywheel. or even better on a ECU

I would probably go ahead with the OEM Type-R manifold, but that's just my opinion, although Skunk2 offers some nice little gains.

My motor when its all about to go in, will just have upgraded rods and pistons, no cam shafts or valve train upgrades as of yet. And the block will remain a 1.8 I'm not boring it

I would keep the stock manifold, and put my money towards something else. The ITR mani is not going to make much more power, if any, and as stated above, the Skunk2 is a direct copy. I do firmly believe that the Professional Products intake manifold will make power on your set up, but I'm sure most would like to wait to see more dyno results.

Ya, well I'm gonna prolly buy that new mani that you guys showed me, my friend ordered one today, so I'll see how that goes with his and then go form there.
As for valve train upgrade, sorry but thats jsut too much money right now, I'm gonna have to work with minor mods and hella tunning
