Skunk 2 + Tokico Illumina shocks
I just was wondering about this setup because i had apc(pieces of ****) coilovers and tokico blues on my 96 hatch and that was a little on the bouncy side but not too bouncy.....I now have an eg and am putting on skunk 2 coils with tokico illumina shocks and i thought that would be a good setup considering you can change how the car rides, but i just read someones thread that said this was a really bouncy steup and instead they got springs......Are they just being picky or what???

on my car, i have a 00 civic hatchback....i have the same set up as the one you explained but mine isnt bouncy...it is firm though....
my coilovers are for a gsr, so the spring rate is a little bit higher than the civic ones...on my shocks, they are also for gsr and i ride with mine set at 5, so everything is really stiff...in my book, this is very good, its two steps under the real stuff and one step under the ground control with adjustable koni's (i think the yellow ones...watever)
im happy with mine, it just depends on what u are looking for.
hope this helps somewhat.....
*basically, get integra coilovers and illuminas for your application and you should be gravy.

Re: Skunk 2 + Tokico Illumina shocks (kidkombo)
hey quick question...I also have an ek, a 97 to be exact, and i have Skunk2 coils for my ek, but the coils have integra spring rates just like yours. What do you think my ride will be like with stock shocks. Will i be ok or bounce all over the place?

I had the skunk2 w/ tokico illuminas. in my opinion it was a bouncy ride quality. I had neuspeed race and sport springs before and I liked the neuspeed sport springs but it was a little bit low but that's me though. Now I have eibach springs w/ illuminas which will be replaced with kyb agx struts since the illuminas are about 6 yrs old and has about 90,000 miles on it and it's showing it's wear and tear symptons . In my opinion I'd get the ground control instead of wasting the money on the skunk2 coilovers.

yea...i already have the skunk 2's and they are for an integra. Why did that one guy say they are too bouncy? I think people are being a little picky and dont want any bounce at all. I would rather have better handeling with the coils.....but thats my opinion..
