Ok my car makes this car whistle sound at a certain throttle %. I tried adjusting everything and cant get it to go away. Is it the skunk 2 manifold. I cant figure it out...

Re: (emooheo)
Does it only do it in the upper rpm range? Mine did the same thing and the only thing I could discern was that it had a tiny leak somewhere. I never could find it, but it idled fine and there was no change in driveability. So no harm, no foul.

I have an AEM short ram intake (dry flow filter) on my b16a3 motor and it does not make any whistle sound. It just made my car have a deep throaty sound.. but I have a stock IM so that might be why.

I had an AEM shorty on my Y7 (when I still had one), and it chirped. I also had an AEM CAI on my Accord, and it did it too. Oddly enough, my girlfriend has an AEM shorty (also with the dry flow), and hers doesn't whistle .... but it did when she had a gen1 AEM CAI.
I think the filter design has something to do with it as well.

Ya its kinda weird.. I put a k&n filter on my aem piping and it still did not make the whistle sound so I am not sure what causes this lol..

I think it only happens when the hamster gets loose.

Why would you mess with your idle screw if the intake manifold whistles while you're driving and not idling? You shouldnt mess with that screw for really any reason. What would gasket maker do, and where would you apply it? Silicone gasket maker isnt sensor safe. Anyway, the whistling is:
A.) normal
B.) AWESOME!
lol i had a skunk2 on my B16, and it whistled really loud and i loved it. Pretty much any manifold with really good flow characteristics will whistle. My GSR does it if i take off the stock intake noise cover/lid, my S2000 does it with or without an intake (stock manifolds, on both my cars), and your skunk2 will do it.
Other honda manifolds that generally whistle: D16Z6 with intake, D16Y8 with intake, B16A/B with intake and ofcourse....ITR manifolds. It's a sign of good flow.

So is my car not getting good flow... AEM short ram intake (dry flow) on a stock b16a3 motor in a del sol.

no, im sure it is...but the BETTER flowing manifolds will whistle.
The D16Y8 (Type R for SOHCs) will whistle MORE than the D16Z6
The ITR/CTR will whistle more than a GSR/B16A.
It's not the end all in telling flow, but it's a usual tell tale sign that an intake manifold flows at a high rate.
Exhaust/header loundess will drown out whistles especially on smaller (comparitively) manifolds like the B16A or GSR

I dont know, my blox mani whistles too...but thats because it doesnt seal correctly at the throttle body.
I ordered a new gasket (which I will use hondabond on too...) but for now have the bridge between the two covered with e- tape.
=no more whistle AND ghetto fabulous

Re: (pdiggitydogg)
everything is tight no leaks. I do have a aem short ram. Car has always done it since i bought it just wondered. Does it at only a certain throttle % like mid throttle. Anything below or above no whistle.

Re: (jfruauff)
my hx coupe has done this same thing since i have had it. at around 3k rpm it will start to whistle, sounding very much like a little turbo spool. when i asked this question a year ago, the general consensus was that it was just a misallignment inside the throttle body causing the flowing air to whistle. when i had a stock intake system it did it, and when i replaced stock with injen short-ram it did it. from what i can tell it's no big deal. i've left mine as it is with no consequence.
