Skunk 2 IM question
im putting a Skunk2 IM on my GSR head for my swap and i noticed something different between the GSR IM and the Skunk2. pictured is the Skunk2 flange and one of the outlets for the coolant. what is the small one for? i looked at my friends GSR and there is nothing there as in the small outlet is non-existant. should i just close it off with some JB Weld? or am i missing something?

Re: Skunk 2 IM question (ej0513)
I think you just block it off if you do not have a coolant line there. That is what I plan on doing for my b16 Skunk2 manifold.

Re: (ej0513)
I used mines on my old gsr. there is another coolant line that goes to it. on the stock gs-r one, it has its own spout for it.
also make sure you have everything you need.

Re: (B Cruz)
i looked at the OEM IM and there is no spout there for another coolant line in the same area. BTW, this is a JDM GSR and the stamping on the head says '98. anyone else have any ideas?

I don't remember if mine had one when i had it but, check to see if that isn't the coolant line to the t/b. I did have that thing plugged though, use a good plug and a good worm clamp since it will bust if you don't.

Bro thats the one for the Type - R( correct me if im wrong ). I had the same problem but i solved that by putting a tube with two hose clamps and a screw at the end of the tube and blocked it off like that.

the coolant line that goes to the T/B comes from the upper radiator hose outlet on the head..

it fits my P72 head no problem..
i guess ill proly just plug it up with a cap and clamp. thanks for the help!

you can use the stock p72 ecu.. infact if you are still running stock GS-R cams, a stock p72 ecu would be best, unless you are running a chipped ecu with a vtec x-over point of 4400-4900.
You will not throw any kind of code if you have a skunk2 manifold.

Re: (Dengar)
another thing I hate about gs-r's with a raised vtec cross over is when you shift 2-3 and 3-4 and 4-5 you drop out of vtec. stupid gs-r trannies.

Re: Skunk 2 IM question (ej0513)
I routed the hose from under my throttle body to that. Been that way for a year now. The small hose from my upper radiator hose outlet routes to a spot just behind the thermostat. I guess all that matters is getting coolant where you want it.

Re: (RabbittZ)
On OBD1 Motors, they use a Fast Idle Valve underneath the throttle body. On OBD2 motors (like yours, being a 98), it shouldn't have the fast idle valve which that coolant port would go to. So, get a rubber cap and hose clamp and plug it. For those with older motors, that goes to the coolant port of the fast idle valve (under the throttle body).
For an ECU, I am using a P06, chipped to P28 and running Hondata S200. The stock P72 map blows for GSR motors with Skunk2 Manifolds.
