Default sirI in an eg

since an eg is obd1 coukdn't you put an sirI engine in there but just buy a hydraulic tranny???

You might as well get sir2, because swapping a b16a1 will probably cost you the same , due to converting it to cable clutch and factoring in engine mounts and wiring problems, it's a bad idea.

yeah the only thing was the price diff. the sirI is about 800 less. i could sell the cable tranny and get a hydraulic one. plus what would i have to do to convert the sirII to obd 1?

You would have to do more than $800 that's what they are telling you. You will spend the same or more in the end and still have a older 1st gen 160hp motor. Do it right and get a SIRII swap and bolt it in and add a wire.
