SIR-II Swap Problem
We did a swap on a 99 Civic EX (D16y8)(OBD2) with a JDM CIVIC SIR-II motor (B16A)(from OBD0 to OBD1 conversion). The 99 Civic EX has a green wire to hook up onto the crank angle sensor. But the SIR-II doesnt have a place on the crank angle sensor to connect the green wire. So we went ahead and leave the green wire out and ran the engine. The Computer gave us a code for the engine check light, which says crank angle sensor. Is anyone out there that can help me out and tell me where do that green wire go?
Thank YOu ALL very much |

im not 100% sure, but i belive the OBD2's were the only ones with crank angle on the oil pump. you're going to have to get a OBD2 oil pump on your B16 to run a OBD2 ECU.. either that or jumper harness? |
Re: SIR-II Swap Problem (Built B16A)
But see, the factory car is OBD2, my new engine is OBD0, and i changed the ecu harnesses from OBD 0 to OBD1.
So less than half of my car is OBD2 and Majority is OBD1. like All the other sensors and Ecu and distributor is OBD1. |

uhh sir II is obd I

Tru dat! The Si-R engine from the EF's were OBD-0. |
Re: SIR-II Swap Problem (ABK)
I am sorry. I meant that i changed the harness from OBD2 to OBD1, and the crank angle sensor didnt have a place to connect the green wire. The green wire was from the OBD2 harness, dont know where the green wire should go from the OBD1 ECU to the Crank angle sensor or maybe sumthin else...

Re: SIR-II Swap Problem (gwiser)
are you using usdm p30 ecu? I think it looks for crank angle sensor which jdm motor doesn't have. so if that's the case you can switch to chipped p28, run jdm p30 which shouldn't look for such sensor, or intall oil pump of usdm b16a2.

Re: SIR-II Swap Problem (ABK)
I uses a jdm p28, so now, it's gotta be the oil pump, right?
|
no OBD1 ecus look for the crank angle sensor. you'll be fine running without one if you're using a p30 or p28 usdm or jdm. doesnt matter.

Re: (dantastic)
We tried that, and the car ran really jerky under 3000 RPM, after 3000, it got smooth.

Re: (gwiser)
damn where the the hell are b series gurus? Are you sure you engine doesn't have one by the oil pump.
