SiR II (10 hp's over us counter part?)
Just wondering how they get the 10 extra hp out of the jdm b16a2? Or is it just the result of the restrictions that the U.S. puts on the engine?

Re: SiR II (-SpoonfedEG-)
USDM B16a1/2/3 160hp, 111tq
JDM B16a(first gen 89-91) 160hp, 111tq
JDM B16a(second gen and newer) 170hp, 113tq
The ony difference in the two is the compression ratio. The usdm, and jdm 1st gen motors have 10.2:1 ratio, all the jdm 2nd and newer have 10.4:1 ratio.

Re: SiR II (4g4me)
Compression and better octane fuel probably make up that 10hp.
I still like the JDM Second-Gen B16A because it's cheaper and really does outpower the U.s counterpart unlike some other JDM vs. USDM motors.
My girl's B16A2 pushed 143whp with i/h/e while my friend's JDM Second-Gen 170hp B16a laid down 150whp with only header and exhaust. Stock Civic piping with open tube.

....
No.
The post you quoted shows that my girl's B16A2 (from a 1999 Si) laid down 143whp with all bolt-ons. Oh yeah forgot to mention the re-chipped P28 as well.
That is typical.

Re: .... (WAFFLES)
Actually it sounds about right. Thats about a 10% loss from flywheel to wheels after I/H/E. I'm not sure what average is without the I/H/E, but I would guess about 20%. So the motors sounds fine. 150 at the wheels stock just sounds rediculous.

Yea, i know how that goes. I just got out of a physics lab where we had to calculate percent loss thats where those quick calculations came from. LOL even though they are prolly off. oh well. plus my car is acting crazy (see post) its pissing me off ::Sighs::

Re: SiR II (B18C5-EH2)
my old JDM b16a dynoed (2nd gen) with the following:
rear section fireball, tanabe header, rest stock = 143whp and 102lb/ft of torque
my buddy's 1st gen B16a (JDM) in a EG (OBDI):
stock with a cone intake, rear section off a CRV = 142whp and 103lb/ft of torque
basically a 1st gen with most stock parts will do 138-142whp while a 2nd gen will have about 1-4whp more.
differences are cams, compression, ecu
