Default Single belt conversions?

The aftermarket crank pulleys for a single belt conversion seem to be for the DOHC engines only. Can the pulley for a DOHC engine fit a SOHC 1998 Civic? Anyone know of aftermarket single belt conversions for the SOHC sixth gen Civics? Thanks.

Unorthodox racing makes a crank pulley for them.

Are you sure? Because I am only seeing options for the 1992-1995s and the 1999-2000 Si... not the 1998 DX. The 1999-2000 Si is DOHC, right? Will that crank pulley fit the SOHC?

Thanks for the responses! I might try a SOHC 1992-1995, but I might also try having the existing crank pulley machined to carry just the single belt, because I don't want underdrive, just reduced rotational mass since I removed PS and AC permanently. These guys are nearby and can do the machining for about $100: http://www.inlinefour.com/infourn1encr.html

Thanks again!

Ah ****. Looks like I read the description wrong. THey definitely make them for 96-00, but I can't find one for a single belt.

If you can get the stock one machined, and you are comfortable with that, I would go that route. That way you could keep the stock timing marks, and still be able to use the factory tool to remove the pulley.

I've seen some pretty stupid **** before, so just to be clear...you do realize the single belt pulley is for deleting your power steering and keeping your alternator, right? Just want to make sure you don't think you'll be able to use a single belt for both.

You could save yourself a lot of money by picking up a used D pulley and have it machined down.

Two single belt pulleys with vastly different weights and prices:
Unorthodox's $237, 1lb, underdrive http://www.unorthodoxracing.com/crank-pulley-4743
Ralco's $99, 1.5lb, underdrive https://www.ralcorz.com/RalcoRZ-914865/

Is the Ralco properly balanced/dampened? Anyone used it?

They don't or at least the OEM ones don't. The plastic lower timing cover is different and the pulley rubs or doesn't clear. I can't remember exactly but I have tried it and it doesn't work.

I don't think any of those under drive pulleys are dampened. Because of that they were causing issues with the crank. Try and google it.

Here's an interesting read from a guy who says the pulleys will not harm a relatively stock, non-harshly driven, inline 4. That dampers are mainly for noise reduction:
