simulating eg/ek suspension
Hi!
Anyone ever did this kind of stuff, i.e. getting all the parameters of the suspension - arms/ joints mounts coordinates, lengths, angles, spring/bars/shocks rates, and then using some software to model body roll centers, body roll vs steering input, etc ?
Tryed asking google for any such activities to get some reference numbers, but no success so far...
EG suspension is what I'm mostly interested in.
Thanks!

Re: simulating eg/ek suspension
Sure, it's been done. By professional race teams, and Honda. Not by anyone around here, and definitely not by anyone who would even consider giving you that information for free.

Yea I have seen it done on a few professional race teams that i have associated with.
They pay full time engineers to do just that.
The softwares used are in house created, and once they get their information its locked up tighter than a virgin in the playboy mansion.
Keep in mind this is done at every track they run at, and under all sorts of weather conditions.
The technical data they gather is so important to putting the best possible car on the track for their paid drivers.
I wish i could film the race engineers and post a film on what they do and how they do it.
The data they gather boggles the mind.
So many sensors on the car... engine, tranny, fuel, suspension, tires outside ambient temps the list is endless.
What i find really interesting is how the race engineers calculate fuel usage.

Re: simulating eg/ek suspension
At the moment I have some software, but I need the parameters from stock EG. Not the calculated output data - just the raw data, that can be obtained in 0th order precision e.g. by measuring the suspension mounts with a ruller.
If anyone knows the place to buy more precise raw data - in that case I will save some of my time getting all those numbers by myself.
