Simple battery question!

Simple battery question!
Can someone give me the specs needed on a battery (CCA & CA) needed for my 93 Civic 1.6l
i don't have the old one since the person I had take it to the auto store left it there after it tested bad and so I wasn't even able to get a chance to read the specs on it. No one can give me a straight answer and the internet gives me tons of answers. Not trying to eff up my engine or starter! so I'm hoping someone can easily tell me. Don't know if you need more info than what I gave, so if so, just ask! I'm finding out more and more about my Civic as I continue to work on it, so it's all new to me and as my first Honda project, I'm learning as I go (:

Re: Simple battery question!
If you're in a cold climate, get max CCA ... otherwise, meh, doesn't matter so long as the battery is the correct size and shape (51R, so says the posters above). If your car is RHD, however, 51 is the better option. Not a narrow post one though if you're in a cold climate.

Re: Simple battery question!
The 51R battery is a mirror image of the 51 in that the + and - terminals are reversed. When you try to put a 51 into a USDM car, you will have to turn the battery around so the terminals are close to the firewall to get the + terminal on the same side as the + cable. Then the cables only sort of reach because you have to stretch them back toward the firewall. The USDM car is much happier with a 51R which puts the terminals toward the front of the car where the cables originate.
I'm assuming that part of the RHD car is a mirror image of the LHD car, so a mirror image battery (51) would also be used.

brain fart....duh.
My bad fellas about the RHD/LHD. You are correct, mk378. On RHD, the ground wire is on the right side instead of left.
