Default Silly Question

So I'm trying to order a new "B" series driverside axel, I got to Majestic Honda and there dosen't seem to be part called "axel" listed. Would it be the "CV Halfshaft"? I also tried Autozone and ran into the same problem. I am not a full fledged gear head as you can obviously see, but what should I be looking for to order a "B" series axel.

Sorry my brain just isn't workin right now..

Sometimes it's called a driveshaft. If I remember right from my friends car, the b-series driver sides is the one with a half-shaft from the tranny, and then the axle from the halfshft to the hub

Just go to your local autoparts store like Napa and say you need driveaxle/driveshaft for whatever car it is that you need. I believe they run around $120 without core and $70 with core.

At autozone/napa/any parts store it a piece of crap. The only good thing is they are cheap and sometimes have a lifetime warranty (Napa).

Hey Kit, an OEM axle from honda is going to be like $300. We had to order another one for Luke because the first one we got from Autozone took a crap on us after 2 days. That's not usual for them to do that. Anyway, I believe it was like $70 with a core (your old axle). Let me know if you need help installing it.

I knew this was coming...

I am not trying to start an argument or anything. But I do have this to say from personal experience...

You will replace the reman's more often than new OEM axles. So lets say you spend 300 for an axle that lasts 50-60,000 miles versus 150 for an axle that will maybe last 30,000. There is no cost savings in the long run...especially if you are paying someone to install.

Granted...I am speaking from relatively limited experience but thats what happened. I put a set of Napa axles in and ~20000 miles later used the lifetime warranty.

that's not true based on my experiences. on at least 5 of the daily driver cars i've done them on, the autozone/napa remans lasted over 80k miles, which was more than the OEM axles did.

Guess I just got a bad pair...that happens.

I suppose if youve had 5 sets last over 80K then its a worthy gamble.
