Default side by side comparison of short shifter

im debating wether to get a dual bend or single bend short shifter and hwich brand. i basically want the cheapest i can get thats name branded.

a side by side comparison i mean, how farther back does a dual shifter go back versus a single bend.

pics will help a hell of a lot.

also, is it or would it be smart to actually shorten the length of the shifter on a dual bend.

I have a single bend Megan Racing short shifter with skunk2 weighted shift ****. Love it compared to the stock shift piece. I'm almost 6' 4" and I have no probs reaching for the **** to shift. car = 97 civic ex coupe

Skunk2 dual bend with the weighted ****, they're designed for each other, and the results are phenomenal.

I had a dual bend dc sports but I went with the B&M dual bend because it was much better. In my other car I have a Pacesetter adjustable shifter " and I prefer that over the other ones I've had it on my integra since 2001 and have never missed a shift with it, also it's single bend........but basically you can't go wrong with any of those brands.

what ever you do just dont buy an ebay one they'll break. and you'll be stuck shifting gears under the hood.

I like the dual bends in the civics.

EDIT:
As for brand? To each his own.

Some people will say one brand sucks - another one will say it rules.

I'm a skunk2 fan when it comes to shifters.

On the other hand - maybe you might wanna go with something like B&M - they've kinda been making shifters since the 60's w/ hurst...

SS's are a waste of money.. there is absolutely nothing wrong with the stock shifter.. if you're worried about shifting, dont because i garuntee that you can shift a stock shifter as fast as a SS..

I have a blox dual bend and it's pretty decent. the throw is much shorter than stock and it goes great with the skunk2 ****.

it's not really about shifting faster it's about having a more comfortable shift.

short shifters feel alot better than stock ones. it has nothing to do with shifting faster.

Short shifter FTW.

The shifting time is actually faster, but the difference is irrelevant it's so little.

The feel though is important for changing gears and using heel-toe.

i dont know why im wasting my time quoting you.... but, using a SS requires less effort to shift "as fast" as an oem shifter. skunk2 ftw.

Is there any shifter out there that will make the throw about as long as the s2000 throw? I love the very short throws. I have a single bend on my car and its not really that short. I know it really depends on where the ball is for the length of the throw but not sure if all the off the shelf shifters are all the same length.

Take your shift linkage to a shop and have it professionally shortened.

then dont quote me.. ive had skunk 2 shifter with skunk ****, cheap shifters, b&m, and alot of others.. truthfully i like a stock b-series shifter better then all of them..

okay less work to shift fast.. more comfortable.. well i can get all of that with a stock shifter
