Default Side moldings on a Civic vx?

This is something I've been trying to figure out for a while. For some reason the old man I bought my car from thought it would be a good idea to spray paint the part with where the molding should be black. I bought some thin side moldings from password and used a dremel to cut off the clips. I was told that Honda just uses 3m double sided tape to stick them on. This looked like crap because they stuck out. Then they fell off in less than 24 hours. Then I tried some elmers super glue. This time they stayed on for about two weeks but eventually they fell off again. Now I bought some RV "side molding glue" from checker. The glue isn't even strong enough to hold them on while it dries. Does anyone have any other ideas?

Every honda I've ever seen has clips that hold the side molding in place.

Yeah I guess I should have been a little more clear. Obviously the vx don't have stock side moldings. You could however get them as a dealer installed option. This is when they used the double sided tape.

However this doesn't really matter. I'm just trying to put some on my car without cutting any holes for the clips.

Do they make industrial strength double sided tape? or at least something more than just the 3m stuff for arts and crafts?

The VX and CX had optional side moldings. They didn't have clips on them, it was just stuck on there with double sided tape. Even on passwordjdm's site, they say they sell the Clip Type. I remember seeing the tape on kind, but I can't find the link for them. But 3M double sided tape should work.

The ones that are meant to stick on must be a lot lighter. These ones just fall off no matter how much tape is one there.
