Did the Si tranny come with a clutch fork? The valve thingy is called a clutch slave and it should be pressing against the clutch fork. When you push the clutch pedal, the piston in the slave pushes against the fork, which is mounted on a ball pivot, and the other end of the fork pushes on the clutch release bearing.

It sounds like you may be missing a part or something is not installed correctly.

no. you should never have to remove the clutch to replace a tranny, just leave it on the motor.
post a pic, you probully have something on wrong,

im a little confused, on what you mean, its impossible to remove the clutch without the tranny off, you just cant. again, you shouldnt even have to touch the clutch to swap a tranny,

thats not possible.
the throwout bearing holds the fork in place, but he may have it in back words,

when we swapped a b20 into my friends dc4, one of our friends had a brain fart or somthing put it in wrong, and it didnt sit right, or want to move up and down, and after about a half hour of messing with it, it broke, then we realized after some sleep and a new one what was wrong, swaps at 3am lol what can i say
