I'm rebuilding my transmission on my z6. I have everything back together and when its in nuetral and I move the shifter left or right its smooth. But when I move it right (for 5th or R) and let it go back to the middle without putting it into either gear a pinging noise happens. I know what the noise is(the check ball/spring in the middle shifter doesn't have the alluminum housing around the spring. So the spring is hitting the bottom of the case) is the noise ok? If not where can I get one of the housings. I've looked through all of my bags I used to keep organized and can't find it.

i can't think of the piece your describing, but i would check out hondapartsunlimited.com they should have the part and their prices are pretty good.

My friend called the dealer today bc he is better at describing the piece than I am and it took him 30 mins but they figured out the part. Costs 5$ so no biggie. Thanks for the help tho
