Default SI taillights in a 5th gen coupe?

Well I hope this isn't a stupid question. I was wondering if the taillights from a 99+ SI fit on the 5th gen coupes. If not is there a taillight with a similar design (red and white instead of red and orange)? Thanks.

No such thing as a stupid question. I have seen some red/white taillights out there for 92-95 Civic's. I just don't know who makes them.

i have a set of them I bought off Ebay, they cost like $100 or so at the time. But Now you can find them cheaper. If you can't find them on ebay, drop me a PM, i'll sell you them, I am using my stock tails again

I believe you take your stock ones and remove the orange film off of them.

Yep, unless you got pounds of money for the budy shop to do the work which is not worth the money. don't do it.

I wouldn't, 99-00 coupe lights are already red/clear, so just get those.

I can't seem to find a good deal on them tho, all around $100. If I could clear them out that would be great, b/c I like how they look, but I would rather use the $100 for go-fast parts. I already clearout, and painted my headlights, so if it is a process like that, I am fine with it, could you tell me how to do it??

Thanks!!!!!

just go to wallmart and get some testors transparent candy apple red spraypaint. then just tape off everything but the orange and paint away. probably the cheapest and easiest solution to the problem.

I checked for the red/clear for my Civic hatch and when I looked into it I was told they were discontinued.

Painting the orange with translucent candy apple red looks real nice but if you get clears and paint those, looks even better.

cheapest way to do it is to buy the candle apple paint and go on ebay and buy a set of all clears, they go so cheap now, like 30 bucks. and paint half of them red and there you go. Only thing i don't like about the apc ones besides the fact that they are apc is that when you hit your tails they don't shine completely red. A lot of people have them here and the color actually looks pink when the brake is pressed, other than that i guess you could get them.

I did that for my 5gen hatch a while back and it turned out great. All you have to do is redo them after 12-18 months or so beacause the sun tends to fade them a bit (not major but i'm picky) after a while. Good luck.

the best way that i have seen (whitch are on my car) is to take a set of clear tail lights and paint them with the candy apple red. i put the red on top, and rewired my lights, everyone really likes them. just a little different from everyone eles.

I just finished painting the amber parts of the tail lights........and they look very good. Just took one can of the Testors Candy Apple Red Transparent Paint ($2.75 @ wal mart), and a bunch of masking tape.....and I'm very pleased with the results.
