Default Si sway bar on ek HB

Hello everyone, I know this mods has been done by other member on the board.

The add I found listed :
"This sway bar was pulled from a 99 si and would make a perfect upgrade for civics that do not come with a sway bar stock. comes with bushings"

i was wondering if there is anyting else I would need to put this on my 96HB, such as the Si Endlink ( would I even need this). Thankx for any help on this.

You would need endlinks, brackets, bolts, etc....

A Si bar would make a noticable difference but you should try to find a ITR swaybar instead.

i got the ITR bar on my EK (EJ6) hatch and it's amazing. I would really recommended the ITR bar with a beaks subframe reinforcment kit for best results. check www.beaksproducts.com Also, what kinda suspension / spring rates are u running, this has a good deal to do with the possibility of subframe tearout.

EDIT: Yes, u would need the Si endlinks

I just installed an Si sway on my 97 EX Coupe and it is a noticable difference in handling. As mentioned earlier, you just need the bar, endlinks, D-brackets, and misc bolts. It's a pretty easy install unless you have clearance issues with your exhaust or lower-tie bar.

it's all a question of bar size. The ITR bar is 22mm, the Si's in 13mm. Neuspeed also makes a 19mm. The bigger the bar, the stiffer it is, thus you will have an increased tendency towards weight transfer oversteer, and it will happen more suddenly.

Keep in mind what size bar your car has in front. This will effect the overall balance of the bar. A really thick front bar will increase understeer. I'm not sure what your car came with but for an EX, the front bar is 22mm, and on the Si the front bar is 26mm.

A word of caution: these bars have a drastic effect on handling.

A thick rear anti-roll bar is fun, but if you're not used to weight transfer oversteer you can get yourself into trouble. It is one thing to know what your supposed to do, and quite another to understand what the rear end stepping out feels like and be able react correctly (countersteer) in a split second. Do the wrong thing (step on the brakes even harder) and you can end up facing the wrong way.

Where can someone order the OEM Si sway bar and does it come with all the bolts, brackets, and endlinks that are mentioned? or do you have to purchase that separately as well?

Doh! I meant EX front swaybar. I'm in Canada, so our Si = your EX. :D I already have an ITR rear bar with the Beaks kit.
