to SI or not to SI

to SI or not to SI
So i'm new to the forum... I race a WRX right now, and i'm getting sick of the rough ride for a daily driver... not really, but i'm going to use it as an excuse to buy another car... one of my friends has a red 1999 SI for sale and she is going to give me a good deal on it.. hopefully...
any way, I'm most likely going to turn it into a straight line beast seeing as my WRX is a track car...
what’s it take to get the SI into low numbers… like 12’s.. what kind of mods, and how much money are we talking… (minus install cost… I do that all my self)?
