SI lip
After wading through all 162 topics that got returned when I searched for SI lip, I've come to you guys. I can get a free SI lip if it'll fit on my 97 ek hatch. I don't think it will, but what do you guys say?

Re: SI lip (Ricey McRicerton)
The si lip will fit almost flush with minor modification. I have a '96 hatch and had a '00 si lip on mine before i did my '00 si front end conversoin. The lines of the bumper and the curves are identical for 96-98 and 99-00, all you gotta do is cut the lip in the middle and remove ~1 inch or so from the middle or whatever it is so that it's a flush fit and then fiberglass the lip from the back and repaint the thing. It will be like OEM.

Re: SI lip (1.8 HB)
BTW it looks AWESOME, i've had the JDM SiR lip as well on my old front end but i cracked it (car is tucking all around) so i put the si and it looked mint, it was flush with the rest of the body lines of the car (rocker panels) it was the same level. ALso it's MUCH better looking than the dirty ABS plastic POS replicas.

Ok guys lets swap out a whole front end to get a 100.00 lip to fit.
Yes bro it will fit with little modification.

Re: SI lip (USDMDC2)
Bah, the guy who was going to give it to me flaked and now wants to charge me 50 dollars for it. Oh well, now I'm getting the JDMSh!t one instead and painting it myself. Screw cutting it up and remoulding it.

Don't get a replica, they look ******* awful and i never EVER saw anybody with a OEM Si lip around here put on a 96-98 hatch. Really it's very simple, it's nowhere near as hard or labour intensive as it seems, and it's worth it.

The JDMSh!t replica looks exactly like the SI lip to me. How did you cut it and rebond it?? I'd be doing all of the painting and such myself..thats why I figured I could do the replica just as cheap. 85 bucks vs. 50 bucks htne whatever it takes me to make it fit.
