si head on a vx block
i still kinda new at swapping parts so ill ask this the best way i can. can i swap a ex or si head onto my vx 1.5 block without any major problems. what would be a good combination of parts if there is one. and what years will work with my motor. the vx has about 153000 miles on it but it runs great. i just swapped transmissions about 2 weeks ago and i think i ended up with an ex tranny. it seems to have shorter gears in it now. any help would be appreciated..oh yeah. i live in houston so i have access to a whole lot of junkyards here

As long as the head and block are of the same series (i.e. d series, b series, k series, etc), you should be able to swap them out. Same with trannys, but it sounds like you knew that. Since your car already has vtec, you probably will not need to plum the head for an oil line, nor run any extra wires for vtec. not sure though. You would probably won't to use the same ecu that goes with the vtec head you choose.
Easiest thing to do would be to search.
I hope this helps, or at least points you in a good/right direction. Be sure to post your progress.
Good luck!
