Si front sway bar making clanging noise on my hatch..HELP!
Hey guys, i just installed a front 26mm Si front sway bar, all busings and control arms on my 99 DX hatch. THe install went pefectly fine and the handling is great, but for some reason when i hit certain bumps on the roads, ESPECIALLY going into driveways and such, i notice a clangning noise of some sort.
I narrowed it down to the bar itself tapping somewhere on the underbody of the car...when the bar was disconnected all noise was gone.
If anyone has ran into this or knows how i might be able to fix this PLEASE help, this noise is really bothering me, and im strongly considering taking all my new parts off and selling them. Thanks in advance

Can anyone point me in the direction of a good civic hatch site that possibly might have some ideas to this problem?

Re: Si front sway bar making clanging noise on my hatch..HELP! (2camsaam)
I have jacked up my car to look more times then i have in the last year this past week to try and find out what the problem is. When you go under the car, the bar is not touching anything, nor can i simulate the noise. When i go over bumps, the bar must be flexing and hitting something, however i do not see where or what.
I guess my main question is, was anything i did in my installation wrong or any step left out? I was under the impression that if i put Si control arms, forks, and bar itself on, it was pretty much plug and play. Maybe something is wrong with the bar, im not sure.
Thanks for all the ideas so far and any new ideas that may still come!

when the car is on the ground the sway bar sits differently. the only way you can tell if it is going to hit anything is to look at the bar while the springs are compressed. ( this is how the bar should have been installed in the first place! ) one way of doing this is when the car is on a hoist lower it down onto tall jack stands on the lower control arms. that is what i would do cause i have access to a hoist. if you don't, do something similar.
