Default si cluster in auto dx?

I got an auto 97 dx for dirt cheap, so i converted it and wanted to get rid of that auto cluster. When i went to hook up the 00 si cluster i had one plug left over and only partial illumination. Anybody ever done this before?

You don't need the extra plug. You just won't have the illuminated shifting lights which the si cluster doesn't have anyway.

but what about the cluster not illuminated in certain areas? can those bulbs break, or burn out?
