Default Show me the path of enlightenment...

OK kids, I know I don't post here too much, but i'm looking for a little advice. I own a 93 del Sol Si, which was recently on the bad end of a hit and run accident with an 84 Buick Century, white, MD Tag # 149 BLN (if you happen to see it, let me know...) that decimated the left side of my car. I manage a body shop, and believe me guys, this one's a total. I'm not really upset to see it go, it was an automatic, bone stock less the CAI and stereo, but i'm pissed that i'm out a car, it wasn't my fault, and I get to foot the goddamn bill. Now here comes the hard part. I'm looking to spend at most $3000, i'm also getting ready to move, and I don't want to dip too deeply into the bank account that i'd built up for that move. I've thought about buying another Civic and yanking the SOHC out of the Sol (only has 89k miles, so I can get a high-miler or a shell...). Allthough, i'd been thinking of picking up an Accord and stuffing an H22 down it's throat. If I do that, though, the del Sol goes to the scrapper, and I get nothing out of it. I'm also not opposed to heading over to the Nissan camp, i've always loved the SR20DE & DET engines, and alot of credit should be given to a company that builds the Skyline. Ugh, hell, I don't know which way I want to go. So argue your opinion, let me know what you'd do if you were stuck in my position.

Getting a 240 and a det swap will put you out alot more than $3k, but would be my fav choice out of your options by far.

With the budget you have, the best bet would be to find a clean 4th or 5th gen and cram the d16 in it.

If I were you, I'd try to find a 5th gen hatch or coupe for about 3k. If you look hard, you can find one in your price range. Also, if you manage a body shop you could fix any dings/scratches. Although I like the 240, I'd stick with a 5th gen civic.

I'd call the cops and promptly tell them what happened with your car! ESPECIALLY since you have the plate number, make, and model!
