Both are great, but you will have more potential for the future in the swap. They cost about the same unless you Backyard/ junkyard the turbo set up. You can boost for less than a grand these days

Depends on what you want, but I say boost it. You can safely get 200-225 hp out of a stock block d16 with a good tune.

Yeah, I say f the swap. I am putting together a setup myself right now. Spent $300 and got a .42/.48 t3 turbo, downpipe, log manifold w/ wastegate support...just spent $130 for 450cc injectors, obd2-obd1 conversion harness, and dsm bov. All i need is the pipes, lines, ic, and I'm chipping my own ecu...

Don't ask us questions like this without telling us the mileage, modification level, budget, trim level of the car and whether or not you have a hot sister. You can make anywhere from 140whp to 210whp depending on the engine, the boost level, the tune and where your sister puts her mouth.

How am I to interpret this flagrant befouling of the English language? Are you saying that a d16(Y8 I'm assuming) can beat a turbocharged DOHC motor? Or are you saying that it can ALMOST beat a turbo'd DOHC, and that stock D16's rule? BTW, in what issue did you read this? I'm subscribed to HT and I never read anything like that.
But enough of that.
A guy I know turbocharged his D15B7 and from what I hear it's fast as hell.
