I NEED SOME OPINIONS ON THIS DEAL ...
Ive got a cx hatch with stock motor ... 140k but still runs strong with no problems. I was gonna throw on an si trans, swap the head, and install this jackson racing supercharger I got for the summer. A kid I talk to every now and then offered me a either cash or a complete b18 ls motor swap(70k with paper work), but I have a problem with trusting people I dont really know. I just need some ideas on what to do. Take the cash and buy a new jdm d15? Take the swap? Or do my original plan and use it for the summer and throw a new motor in next year? -Thanks-

I dont know the kid really good and if hes willing to give me a complete swap for a d series supercharger instead of putting it in his ef, it makes me question the condition of the swap.

Ne-ga-tive.
I've been running 8 psi all day long for over a year and a half on my 140k D16Y7 and had 0 problems with it.
EDIT: That includes tracktime as well. Tuning is what determines how reliable it is.
EDIT x2: Just saw you're running the CX motor with it's dinky rods and potential 8 valve releif head. Get something else if you plan to boost. The B18B may be your best bet here. Less mileage and a stronger motor than what you have.

They've been building world record holding FWD Honda's for over 10 years now as most of you know.
All their turbo work is done to B-series engines for their race and customers cars. My buddy went in there about 3 weeks ago, all ready to boost his SI (Z6) and they convinced him to first swap it out for a B series for reliability. MOST, of their customers cars last 5+ years.
Yes, I'll admit, I haven't ever owned a boosted D/B series engine, but who should I listen to more, the techs at Inline, or the Internet? No offense.

this place is non profit, therefor ricey could tell you what ever he wants it dont matter to him, so why would he lie? theres a lot more money in b series.... of course they want you to swap it. i would get a bseries too, only because you can make MORE power reliably.

I never said Ricey was lying??
Edit: Is HT really non-profit? I mean, they DO make money through ads and sponsors.
