I'd go with the Z6, as one should be availably semi-locally. With all the hype surrounding the D15B, the Z6 might be cheaper.

if you can get a z6 i would go for that...you should be able to get it cheaper then 800
another thing is z6 has way more readily available parts...
if you ever want to build your d15 for turbo well you cant unless you custom order alot of stuff.

D15B has 3 stage vtec, great power while still staying economic. The z6s are more plentyful so if you blow a hole in ur block,no prob. just get another one for 300!

no sir your thinking of a different model. This one is only two stages...the one your thinking of is a different model which no one really swaps.

WOW!!! Lots of bullshit information flying arround here....
I purchased a D15b from H motors last week and it will be here any day now.
First of all a D15B isnt hard to turbo at all!! It's a D series for expletive sake!! Exhaust and intake **** is all the same. You can get rods and pistons for it with no problem too. finding spare parts for it is easy too i.e. water pump, gaskets and ****...Just do your reseach for the right aplication.
Secondly......It's not a 3 stage Vtec. There are some that were stage 3 Vtec but they're not a desierable motor.
Go here.....YOU'LL LEARN A TON!!! http://www.d-series.org/forums...32597

i have the z6 in my ej. awsome high end power with an igntion upgrade header exaust and cai. plus its easy to find parts. theyre cheap. you only have to buy on cam if you upgrade that. hell a greddy tubo kit its only $1500 from nopi. and another $600 for a fmic. ud have way less trouble droppin in a z6 in my opinion b/c you can find parts easy here. new or used.

almost everyone i know who swapped in a B16 regreted it and wish they either just went SOHC turbo or LS turbo or saved for a b18c or c5 since the b16 cost so much and has so little power...

Where are you buying it from and how much will it cost?
Because I bet for an extra $300-500 you can get a b18b.

you should be able to get a b18a/b installed for like 1500 full swap... atleast a few people where i live do it for that much. That includes everything from motor to tranny all mounts and everything
