Default Should I buy used shocks?

I can get used KYB AGX shocks for 100 bucks, but the thing is, is that they were used for 3 years. The cheapest I've seen them go new is around $340. I know the car the shocks were on wasn't slammed.

Would you stay away from this deal or buy them?

i'd say it really depends on a few things....obviously,if any of them are leaking fluid or really easy to compress, they're busted.i think they carry a lifetime warranty,so you may want to request the receipt from the original owner for future claims.basically,it's a smokin deal,i'd base it mainly on a visual inspection of them.

I'd visually inspect them first, and if you could get the lifetime warranty then I'd go for it.

KYB AGXs carry a lifetime warranty? Are you sure about this? I had no idea.

That's what I've been told on here a hundred times, but I haven't really researched it.

a friend of mine prurchased a set from Advance when they first came out, less tha a year ago he returned two of them because they were busted.the warranty says it doesn't cover damage due to bottoming out(improper bumpstops or a car that's too low),but it's basically at the seller's discretion.they replaced them no problem.he told me they were lifetime warranty, and he's an aftermarket parts tech support for Advance,so i'm pretty sure he's right.

So it just depends where the original guy bought his shocks from, eh? I'll ask if he has original receipts that he can give me.

Unless you can take advantage of the warranty, I'd say look elsewhere.
