should i buy or not(99 si 3000)?
i just checked out an si that i want to buy as an investment. the car has 120k and the body is in decent shape but it has been in an accident for sure. the only thing wrong with the body is that the hood is silver and the car is blue. its also missing a front lip.
the interior is kind of rough. the windows dont go down, its missing a few plastic panels, the radio was stolen, the seats are torn and its missing both air bags. another problem is that vtec does not engage. how much will it cost to fix all of this and how much money can i make if i sell it? the car has a clean title.
he is asking 3000 firm.
the car has 17 inch rims
viper alarm
cai
catback exhaust
how hard would it be to sell a car without air bags?

Ive done this before and made some money. Now im not sayin you will make a lot but i do it because i enjoy the build and keep the car for a lil while to have some fun lol. I'd say you would prob spend 700-1100 on fixing it.
*repaint the hood- 100-250 depending where you go and who you know.
*search of a lip, i know here in Houston you can get a good condition OEM lip for like a 100bux
* the windows is prob just a relay if its both windows- hit up the junkyards for any 96-00 coupes
* Vtec could be a loose connection, or the solenoid out... no biggie- anywhere from free to 100 bux Check the codes
* honda seats 50bux -200 bux depending on which ones
*and as far as the air bags throw a air bag delete tray and nardi or jdm non srs or even s2k steering wheel in there

If both airbags are gone the car has been in a pretty serious wreck. You need to get the frame checked to see if its straight, and a carfax would be a good idea, this car could have been stolen, wrecked, recovered and half assed rebuilt.

So so true. I would NOT buy a car that had that much to be repaired or replaced. Seems like more and more things would keep coming up and I dont think its worth it.
