should i buy & fix up this EG?
93 DX hatch
Phantom Grey
AUTO (!)
bone stock
73k miles
fender bender damage that needs replacement/repair:
- front bumper
- hood latch
- fender
- minor hood damage
The owner is offering to sell to me for $1400 - $1600
I'm planning on selling it after i fix it up (already have a hatch).
Good buy?
Not worth the time?
Think I could make a decent return?

Don't buy it, and tell me whre it is.
Seriously though, I'd buy it for one of two reasons:
1. Fix the minor damage and sell for huge profit
2. Daily driver duty
I already have a nice daily driver 90 hatch, and I love the **** out of it. I'd keep it rather than sell it for more mod money for my 1992 Cx hatch. You never know just how awesome it is to have a daily driver that you're not scared to leave out of your sight until you have one.

If you order the parts from Certi-Fit you'll probably spend:
$30.00 - front bumper
$50.00 - hood latch (from Honda - I'll double check that guesstimate)
$30.00 - fender
$50.00 - hood
Add another $200.00 for paint, and you've now got a car worth $4,500.00 EASY.
Think about this when you decide:
73,000 MILES
That's low, low mileage.

...and if you find the car too much trouble, trust me plenty of us here would gladly take the info from you and pick that hatch up.

Re: (2 point ferio)
i mean if it were me i'd jump all over that offer, but it just seems like a lot of work for a car you don't intend on keeping. those miles are low as hell for a 12 year old car.

Yes, very good point. My current plan is to give the entire car a complete and detailed inspection. Gonna check entire body for rust, figure out the exact damage done in the accident, run a compression test, check condition of brakes, tire treadlife, exhaust, interior, etc.
Anything that's a major issue i'll use to lower to the price. If I can't get a fair deal i'll walk away and direct a fellow HT member to check it out

dont forget with a little leg work you should be able to get most of those parts for dirt cheap used if not free. Why buy new when there is plenty of parts laying around ppl want to get rid of.
