short shifters, bad for clutch and trannies?
i heard that short shifters would lessen the life of clutch and trannies, i had one in my ef hatch, didn't do anything but shorten my throw.
but that had a stock clutch in it, and i'm getting a stage2 put in my eg.
am i ok with getting a short shifter?

i have heard that many times on the board. I believe from what people were writing that it isn't true and its a load of lies. Besides if you actually think of it how can it even ruin the life of the tranny when its the shifter that is getting replaced.

if you had one on your EF, then why would you ask?!
no, you'll be fine with a short shifter, just don't crazy with the shifting though.

its not the size that counts, it how you use it.
short shifters dont mess up tranny, unless your shifting into oblivion and stomping on the shifter with your foot into 3rd gear.

It has been said over and over again in this thread, but the obvious and clear answer is that NO, they do not hurt your transmission or your clutch, and they only allow people that do not know how to shift properly, ruin their tranny's that much faster...
