Default short shifter question

I'm not to sure if i want a short shifter b/c im not sure i need it.. but if i did is it a horrible idea to get a APC, ive read tons of posts that say they break there neuspeed or DC shifter so why spend the money.. is it suck a bad idea to pay $35 for a APC?? any opinions needed... if im an idiot for even posting it then feel free to kick me in the throat..

The whole point in a short shifter is of course what it is.....however, people break there short shifters cause they are used to the distance needed to travel for the stock one and always slam the hell out of there new one......If you treat the shifter right it won't break......I don't know if I would go for APC even though they are a decent product company there quality level isn't the same as DC or Neuspeed....you could also post something like "DC, Neuspeed or APC short shifter? and then more people will get into the post.....Me I am staying stock I don't shift enough.

Spade might be right on this one, but I do feel that in this situation the most well known is not always the best. Kinda like buying a Chevy instead of a Saab, just because you've heard of the Chevy more often. I never shifted that hard when I broke two DC s/s's, it's all the quality. IMO I will never deal with DC again, just because of the horrible service.

I bought a Matrix s/s, I've had it for over 2yrs and it's been great. I've never heard of a s/s breaking, the only thing that I did was that when I replaced the shifter, I also replaced the tranny fluid... I used RedLine, but that was my personal choice. The Matrix shifter I bought cost me $40, and it's tolerated everyday shifting along side with some hard shifting on the street and track.
