i have the skunk 2 and love it!
the only problem is that the coating on the outside flakes off

it doesnt mater as far as performance obviously, but that shifter is gorgeous imo.

what about the ****, do you know if the finish go bad on that as well?
the Skunk2 **** is good. the finish does not go bad, i've had one for almost a year now... its also weighted to help quicker shifting...its nice

The first short shifter I bought for my civic i got at auto zone. Worked great and compared to some of my friends short shifters I dont see any difference.

yea, haha, i run a $17 ebay short shifter....works great. also use energy suspension shifter bushings, so it might be the bushings . o well...i love the way my shifter goes into gear, feels very positive.

my freind has a cheap ebay short shifter , he got it for like 18 - 99 on ebay . it does the work and it feels as acurate as a dc .. the throw is nice and everything .
dont cut your shifter i did that in my 90 hatch i came out like **** . even if you cut it you are still no shortening the throw .

i got B&M, it's low.. so you have to crouch or lean forward to reach it.. unless youre short.. other than that.. i LOVE IT! i heard good things about the skunk 2 aswell..

I agree on the b&m beeing too far forward making it awkward to use... but the throw is nice as hell and mine doesn't rattle on the exhaust at all.
I'd just get an ebay one though there's no reason to spend a lot of money on a short throw unless you get a whole unit like the top of the line b&m job and the spoon deal that someone mentioned.

just cut the ******.
do you know why that doesn't work? You need to lengthen the area below the pivot ball to make the shifts shorter. Just cutting off the top won't do ****.
I used a DC Sports shifter, and it worked great and NEVER snapped (despite what people say about aluminum ones breaking on people). I eventually went back to stock with Prothane shifter bushings, though.
