Re: Short shifter how to? (SOHC_MShue)
eh, i'm pretty bored, so i'll try to help the best i can from memory.
from inside the car, take off the stock shift ****, and remove the console around the shifter.
jack up the car high enough to get your body under the center part of the car.
while under there, make it easy on yourself and drop the exhaust down out of a few of the hangers to get it out of the way.
Now, look up and see where the shifter goes through the floor of the car. I believe there are 2 12mm bolts that hold it into the car. Remove these bolts to drop the shifter down.
There should now be an assembly with a rubber boot, and 2 more bolts that hold the shifter to the linkages. Remove these and also remove the bolt going through the shifter.
Basically what i'm saying is this: This is a very very basic install, and if you take your time and just look at the situation, you will figure it out no problem. Remember not to tighten the bolt that goes through the shifter too hard or it may not move very freely....Any other questions just ask or PM me
