Short shift install
Im installing a short shifter on my 96 civic i read the DIY thread that i found do you have to take out the intire shift linkage to do it or is it just easier?

taking it off is a hell of a lot easier. plus if u have tight bolts or rusted bolts like i did sitting under that car would be a pain in the *** so i say just take it completely out and when ur done just rebolt it back.

Re: Short shift install (96ek4dr)
If you can get under the car easy enough you can leave it connected to the tranny. It will just be a pain but I have doen it both ways.

thats what i did. took me 20 minutes tops to install the short shifter, cake. its much easier than keeping it on the car.
