Default Short Ram Intake Effectiveness

Do all major companies short ram intakes work at about the same effectiveness? Debating between and AEM or an Injen although there is about a $50 difference. Have been hearing some bad hydro-lock stories even when using the piece that is supposed to prevent it made by AEM. Which short ram do you think works the best and which gets the most bang for your buck?

There is no issues about hydro lock on a short ram.......
First, get a EX intake manifold http://www.sohfast.com
then get any short ram intake with an attached tube.

I have a DAC from DC sports and it is just a replacement piece for the Filter box.....I don't like it. Even though it adds a decent amount of power it is only a filter......2 whp.

I thought the Max Air was the DC filter box replacement. That's what I've got--with a homebuilt icebox...
