Default which shocks should i use?

i have a 93 civic hatch and my front shocks (tokico blues) are blown. i am fixing to get a new pair of struts in the front and want to know what the best are to get. i have ground control springs, i'm using my car as a daily driver, and want my car to be as smooth as possible while being low as possible. i've been looking at the koni reds and the koni yellows but am not sure which would be the best. any info would be helpful, thanks in advance.

This is only my opinion but I think what you should probably do is go to AutoZone or Pepboys. Autozone has the Bilstein shocks that they can order for like 119.99 each. Which i know is HIGH BUT they have a life time warranty on them. And they dont ask to many questions like if the car is lowered or whatever. And if they wont swap them out all you have to do is call corporate. Pepboys is the same way but they have KYB AGX's for like 129.99 or something. Only reason I am suggesting these is that on a lowered car after a couple of years you will blow out shocks. And everyone knows that lifetime warranties kick ***.

i put about 5 miles on them, but they were used. i only drove on them long enough to know they were blown. it's all good though because the rears are still good and i got ground controls with them for $100. i'll probably end up getting the tokico whites unless someone can convince me the koni yellows are worth the extra $100-$150.

yellows are the best you can get for a honda. infinitely adjustable rather than 4 or 5 settings that someone else thought would be good without knohwing anything about your car. lifetime warranty. easy to get service if you want to revalve them for higher rates (not necessary until you go over 450-500 lbs/in.). i don't knowa anyone who has blown a set on the street. i know only a couple that have blown them on track.

just ask yourself what's better, $150 now or $400 in a year or 2 to replaces the tokicos...

I would go with the KYB GR-2 struts for budget or if you have the cash the AGX shocks with custom eibach springs for your preference

Koni yellow will take care of it man...
Very nice set of shocks...
I used them with ground controls, and when i want comfort, i will just raise the height of GC, then the whole suspension would feel really comfy...

Track days, just drop it low and adjust your dampers, and u're good to go and ride in rails...

Default Shocks to use

Personally i will never buy anything other than Tein or JIC, I have Tein SS full suspension/coilover setup... 16-way adjustable shocks , but if you dont' want to spend about $950, get AGXs or Koni yellows, i think reds are more for serious autocrossing / roadcoarsing, unless u r into that

just for fun, how do you have your SS's adjusted? Have you had the car corner-weighted yet?

and i'm betting you've never owned a set of yellows. you can get off tein's ***** now. i get so damn sick of the "jdm y0!" attitude with honda drivers. for $950, i can get a set of yellows & gc with whatever rates i want & run circles around you with tein's "understeer is fun" spring rates. the ss suck compared to yellows. let's see.....no lifetime warranty, much smaller adjustment range, you have to send them to one of only a couple of u.s. places for revalving after you blow them or get better spring rates...should i go on?
